About
the
Artist
I’m Hannah! My main art practice is photography, and I have been working with Photoshop and Lightroom for the past eight years. I also have experience shooting 35mm film, and I enjoy the process of developing and scanning my work.
Photography has provided me with so many opportunities to connect with people, and I have had some really fun experiences shooting friends’ concerts, graduations, family events, and various other pieces of my life. I aim to document my experiences candidly, like a visual diary of my most cherished friends and memories. I also enjoy creating staged and stylized photoshoots with my friends, and I strive to create an environment where they can feel confident and comfortable expressing themselves as individual artistic subjects.
I make art because I feel most comfortable expressing myself in abstract ways. I enjoy writing, but I feel like my words can’t always accurately capture my emotions, and I find that art can help me fill in the cracks. I approach art-making with an open mind, and I try not to limit myself to the boundaries of an initial idea. Experimentation is a huge part of my art process, and I try to prioritize the learning experience over the final result. Besides photography, I also enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting with polymer clay, mixed media collage, and graphic design. My art is an extension of my brain, and I hope you find some joy or inspiration from my work!
